International law firm Brown Rudnick LLP was honored with the 2021 IFLR Americas Award in the “Restructuring Deal of the Year” category for the Firm’s role in the restructuring of McDermott International. The International Financial Law Review (IFLR) is a prominent financial law publication offering global coverage of financial news. The annual IFLR Americas Awards celebrate the most innovative transactions and the market-leading lawyers behind the deals. This year’s awards presentation was held virtually on May 27th.

McDermott International is one of the world’s largest companies dedicated to the design, engineering, and fabrication of large infrastructure projects serving oil and gas drilling, refining, and transportation needs across the globe. Brown Rudnick represented an Ad Hoc Committee of Unsecured Bondholders in McDermott’s pre-bankruptcy negotiations and eventual Chapter 11 case. Brown Rudnick’s work contributed to a global settlement yielding a largely consensual Chapter 11 reorganization and substantial equity ownership distributed to McDermott’s unsecured bondholders.
