Litigation & Arbitration


Melanie Burke is an associate in Brown Rudnick’s Litigation & Arbitration Group. Melanie represents individuals and entities in a broad range of complex commercial and restructuring-related disputes in both federal and state courts as well as before arbitration panels and mediators. Melanie’s practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including case strategy and analysis, motion practice, fact and expert discovery, trial preparation, settlement negotiation and appellate briefing. 



Obtained a $17 million judgment on behalf of the Liquidation Trustee of Green Field Energy Services, Inc. in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware arising from claims including breach of contract and tortious interference against the company’s former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Successfully dismissed several lawsuits brought by former Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP clients against the Dewey & LeBoeuf Liquidation Trust, including a $52 million legal malpractice lawsuit and appeal in New York state court and related federal suits in the Eastern District of Virginia and the Northern District of California. 

Successfully defended two trustees of a realty trust in a mediation and arbitration arising from a lawsuit brought by third trustee alleging breach of fiduciary duty regarding the management of a commercial property valued at more than $100 million.

Successfully represented telecommunications companies in lawsuits relative to roll out and sighting of wireless networks.
