Joseph Ryan is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brown Rudnick, having served in that role for over 16 years. He now serves as a consultant in the Firm. He represented public and private companies in turnaround and restructuring situations in and out of bankruptcy.

Joe has represented principal parties in the successful reorganization of businesses in a variety of industries, including airline transportation, biotechnology, chemicals, computer services, energy, health care, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and telecommunications. 



Represented the Official Creditors Committee in the Chapter 11 reorganization of Global Crossing.

Represented first lien bondholders in the successful defense of litigation brought by Calpine Corporation before the Delaware Chancery and Supreme Courts seeking to appropriate bondholder collateral.

Representing the Official Creditors Committee and the post-reorganization creditor trustee of LyondellBasell in prosecuting fraudulent transfer actions arising out of a pre-Chapter 11 LBO.
