Intellectual Property


Hattie Chessher is an Associate in the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Hattie specialises in intellectual property, commercial and privacy law. She is experienced at dealing with a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, including the drafting of commercial agreements, trade mark portfolio management, intellectual property assignments and licences (including branding, merchandising and franchising agreements), as well as disputes relating to trade marks, copyright, and passing off. She has had conduct of oppositions before the IPO and EUIPO, domain names dispute resolution procedures, commercial and intellectual property claims before both the Queen’s Bench and Business and Property divisions of the High Court of Justice (including the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court), in addition to acting in relation to arbitrations under the London Court of International Arbitration rules. Hattie advises clients from a wide range of sectors, including creative industries, retail and technology, media and telecoms.

Hattie obtained a Distinction in the Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Oxford, and was awarded the highest marks in her year for both the Patents 1 and Patents 2 modules when completing that qualification. Hattie also completed the UCL Intellectual Property Law & Transactions Course in 2020, for which she was awarded the second highest marks in her year. 

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Hattie worked for four years in a Dispute Resolution – Technology, Media and Telecommunications team in the City.
