Biography

Kenneth Davis is Counsel in the Firm's Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Practice Group. Ken has over 20 years of experience in corporate, litigation and restructuring matters, having represented debtors, creditors, lenders, distressed investors, official and unofficial creditors’ committees and post-confirmation liquidating trusts in a broad range of industries.

Ken spent the majority of his career in the Financial Restructuring Practice Group of a leading international law firm, and more recently served as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of a privately held company. 

Ken received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1995, where he was an editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He attended Hobart College, graduating phi beta kappa, with majors in both Economics and Political Science.

In recent years, Ken has worked on the following matters:

Represented secured lender in Chapter 11 case of LightSquared Inc., a satellite communications company.

Represented a secured lender in out of court restructuring of Culligan International Company, a water treatment company.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 cases of Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Centers of New York, a regional health care provider.

Represented the debtors in the Chapter 11 cases of PetroRig I Pte Ltd, an offshore oil drilling concern.

Represented an ad hoc group of noteholders in Chapter 11 cases of Utah 7000, L.L.C., a luxury real estate development company.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case of Nortel Networks, Inc., a major multi-national telecommunications and networking equipment manufacturer.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case of Delta Airlines, Inc., one of the world’s largest airlines.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case of Calpine Corporation, a major generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors and liquidating trustee in Chapter 11 case of Allegiance Telecom, Inc., a provider of telecommunications services and products.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case of Dan River, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of apparel fabrics.

Represented informal committee of secured noteholders in Chapter 11 case of NRG Energy Inc., a major energy company.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case of WorldCom, Inc., a major telecommunications provider.

Represented official committee of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 cases of XO Communications, Inc., a telecommunications company.

Represented debtor in Chapter 11 cases of Valley Media, Inc., a distributor of independent record labels.
