Biography

David Moreno is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group. His practice covers a wide range of areas, including commercial litigation, white-collar defense, intellectual property protection, tax, investment disputes, and sports and entertainment, winning settlement amounts and jury awards among the top in the field. David has extensive experience advising on an array of domestic and international white-collar matters, including healthcare fraud, securities fraud, and other financial crimes.

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, David was a partner at a New York law firm where he managed the Criminal Defense Department and established the Corporate Business, Sports & Entertainment Department. In addition to managing the Criminal Defense Department, David served as the firm’s lead trial lawyer, handling trial-ready cases in criminal and civil court. He regularly managed a caseload of more than 100 active matters in state and federal courts.

David is a Certified Contract Advisor with the NBA, NFL, and the NCAA. He has represented athletes in a legal capacity as well as in a management capacity. David has been integral in the negotiations and legal review of marketing deals and playing contracts for several athletes. He has also advised several athletes and companies in e-sports. David has a strong business law practice and has advised athletes and other high-profile individuals on business matters. He has worked with many start-up companies and has served as general counsel for several startup companies.

Previously, David served as an Assistant District Attorney in the prestigious Manhattan District Attorney’s office, where he prosecuted more than 1200 criminal cases and tried 13 cases to verdict, reporting a perfect trial record. David was a member of Trial Bureau 50, which includes notable alumni Justices Sonia Sotomayor and John F. Kennedy, Jr. David handled an array of criminal matters and was a member of the Public Assistance Fraud Unit.

David’s far-reaching commitment to his profession and clients permeates every aspect of his work and extends to his advocacy work. Dedicated to serving the underrepresented communities oftentimes overlooked by the legal system, David serves as a mentor, motivational speaker, and teacher. In law school, David received numerous honors and accolades for leadership, oral advocacy, and trial advocacy, and was inducted into the highest honor society at the University of Miami School of Law.

Represented a fashion designer and heiress in a criminal matter.
