Energy & Utilities


Amy Tierney represents energy and public utility companies in a range of energy regulatory matters, including both state and federal issues. She also assists clients in litigation before administrative agencies and state and federal courts.

Amy was previously a litigation associate at Day Pitney LLP and Harkins Cunningham LLP. Prior to entering private practice, she served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas P. Olivieri in the New Jersey Superior Court.


Representation of electric utilities before the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board in the siting of new electric transmission lines.

Representation of clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ensure the implementation of non-discriminatory rules and regulations which allow participation by new technologies in the energy markets.

Representation of utility companies in several fully litigated rate cases before state public service commissions.

Representation of investor-owned utility in a dispute arising over the development of major transmission infrastructure before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Representation of foreign utility company in take-over litigation in federal court.
