The recent impact of COVID-19 has changed the way we live and work. Despite this, the UK Government and the Judiciary are determined to keep the courts open, so that commercial proceedings can continue to be heard. Conducting remote hearings means that parties, practitioners, court users, the press and the judges now need to work differently. What is possible? What is working, both here and abroad? Are remote hearings here to stay?
On Thursday 21 May, Brown Rudnick will host an online webinar with a panel including Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd and Sir Richard Field, who will speak about the current landscape, the new arrangements, the technology, and what this means for open justice, access to justice and online courts.
Date: Thursday 21 May 2020
